Rachel Eva Marie Johnson Voice Rachel's background in music began with singing traditional Irish folk songs and playing recorder with her family. She sang in the school and church choirs from 3rd grade through college, as well as performed in
various musicals. Rachel received her Bachelor of Music in music education with
vocal emphasis from The Hartt School at the University of Hartford in West Hartford,
CT. Rachel believes in emphasizing
and developing proper healthy vocal technique through focusing on the physical
athleticism of singing and ear-training with Kodaly techniques. She enjoys teaching all ages and excels at helping students begin their
musical journey.
Christopher McConnell Voice Southern Indiana native Christopher McConnell
recently earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. Chris has
also studied classical guitar and is the lead electric guitarist for Bloomington recording artist Jenn Cristy. He has performed
with bands across the Midwest and accompanied the Indiana University Singing Hoosiers in Beijing, Hong Kong, and Shanghai.
With a focus on choral music in his undergraduate studies, Chris has acquired a rich background in vocal instruction in both
classical and popular styles. Chris welcomes students of all ages and musical backgrounds.
Sarah Stankiewicz Voice Sarah Stankiewicz is completing her doctorate
in Vocal Performance at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, where she previously received her Master of Music in
Voice in 2006. She earned her Bachelor of Music in Voice from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music in 2003 and has been teaching
private voice students since her undergraduate years. She brings a lifelong love of music to her studio, having participated
in choir, band, orchestra, jazz-rock, musical theater and opera since childhood. Sarah believes that every singer--regardless
of age, ability or preferred style--deserves to know how to sing in the most healthy and efficient way possible.
Laura Willms
Voice
Laura Willms received her Bachelors of Music Education, Voice Emphasis, from the University
of Kansas and brings over 8 years of classroom, volunteer and private teaching expertise to her studio. The past few years,
she shifted her educational focus from classroom to the private studio and is currently a student of Patricia Stiles at IU.
She is constantly thankful for her diverse music background and tastes that include piano, choir, and marching band and her
education experience as a home and public school student. Although most of her teaching has been with middle school students,
she is excited to share her love of music and life with all ages and abilities.
